The Duddon Valley
Lakes Fest 2022 will be based in Seathwaite village in the beautiful Duddon valley. Most of the activities for the weekend will start at the village hall which is a 5 minute walk from the pub and 10 minutes from the Turner Hall campsite.
KendalWall have also sponsored the festival by providing funding and other goodies which will be revealed during the weekend.

Located nearby is the Newfield Inn pub which Lakes Fest 2022 goers are welcome to visit for refreshments.
​
We will also be using the village hall for our speakers on Saturday evening.
​
Be prepared for a lack of internet and phone signal. It's intermittent in the valley, depending on your network.
​
We recommend people stay at the campsite but the choice is yours and we are asking everyone to book their own accommodation, including at the campsite. Registration does not include accommodation booking.

The campsite has very kindly set aside the whole campsite for our exclusive use over the weekend. Numbers are limited though and we recommend emailing the campsite in advance to book your spot. The campsite website shows the camping fees. Booking for our weekend via the website has been closed so to book in advance you will have to email the campsite directly.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Booking accommodation
You will need to book your own accommodation to come to the festival. we hope that most people will book into the Turner Hall campsite. We have exclusive use of the campsite for the weekend of the festival and to book in you will need to contact the campsite directly. Details are above.

If the campsite is full or you don't fancy the weekend in a tent or van there are plenty of other options in the Duddon valley. We have listed some of them below.

We recommend booking your accommodation as soon as possible as it is likely to be very busy for the festival weekend.

Registration for the activities
You will also need to register for the festival using the button on the registration page. This lets us know that you are coming and means that you can sign up for your chosen activities. You don't have to sign up for the Raving Rock band or Saturday evening talks but if you register we will add you to our list of people coming along to those events.

Fees
Fees have been kept to an absolute minimum and we have managed to get some great people on board to provide some of our activities free of charge. Other activities such as climbing instruction are paid for. When you register your interest we will put you in touch with the event organiser who will let you know the price and provide you with more details about the event such as what you need to bring with you. Pre-registering your interest from the form from this website does not guarantee your slot for paid for activities; you will need to liaise with the provider.

Getting to Lakes Fest 2022
We recommend car sharing, as far as covid restrictions allow, and will be setting up a facebook group so that you can make contact with others for this. We are happy to put people in touch with each other so just get in touch.
The nearest train stations are Foxfield or Green Road, both of which are on the Cumbria Coastal line, which can be picked up from Lancaster or Carlisle. If you get a train from Lancaster there is a change at Barrow-in-Furness.

Registration at the campsite
Let us know when you have arrived, we'll be at the Seathwaite Village Hall from 7pm to 9pm on Friday and then from 8am to 11am on Saturday and Sunday.

Kit
Stating the obvious but bring your climbing kit if you plan on climbing! Otherwise bring your outdoors clothes and shoes, waterproofs etc. Helmets if you have one. Be prepared to get muddy!

We will be mostly based in the Turner Hall campsite and hope most Lakesfest goers will camp here with us. If you prefer not to camp there is plenty of accommodation on offer in the surrounding area. Places we recommend:

This lovely spot is located nearby, about 1km walk from the Newfield Inn and is the closest accommodation there is for Wallowbarrow crag. Probably a 10 min walk to the crag. There is a self-catering holiday cottage as well as bunkhouse accommodation, a lovely camping barn and two Yurts (available for weekly or 3 and 4 night stays).
