Lakes Fest 2022 is a celebration of the Duddon valley. Organised by a small group of dedicated volunteers with support from KendalWall and the BMC, the festival is non-profit making, meaning costs for you are kept to an absolute minimum.
We have activities for families, experienced and novice climbers, walkers and anyone interested in spending some time in a fantastic setting. We hope our events will give you an insight into how the beauty of the Duddon valley is maintained.
It isn't necessary to take part in the organised activities to enjoy the festival, just turn up for climbing and the evening activities or come camp in the field with us. Come alone, with friends, with your partner or with your family, we are open for all.
We are asking everyone coming to the festival to register via the registration button on the registration page of this website.
COVID-19
We are committed to doing as much as possible to make sure the festival goes ahead but clearly we cannot predict with any certainty what restrictions will be in place for the weekend. We will try to go ahead in whatever format the rules allow.
Here's hoping we can go ahead with everything on offer!

A BMC Event

Core volunteer group
The lakes fest 2022 is organised by a core group of 4 volunteers. We originally intended to hold the festival in 2020 but you know why that didn't happen. We all really hope it goes ahead as planned in April 2022.
We are Anne Salisbury, Andy McVittie, Ron Kenyon and Rachel Somerville. We're all climbers and have been based in or near to lake district for a few years. We're keen to show everyone what the Duddon valley has to offer.
